Children's Concert & Program (Ages 5-12): Featuring Steven Courtney Complimentary for children of adult conference participants. The children's program and adult program will run simultaneously. One week advance registration is required. Parenting Conference Keynotes: Carey Nieuwhof • "Fight for the Heart" Fighting reveals 2 kinds of parents: rule parents and relationship parents. But parenting is not about rules or relationship, but rules and relationship. When you win the relationship with your children, you stand a chance at winning the rules; if you lose the relationship, you lose everything. People behave relationally and we all listen most to those we love the most. As parents, we have less time than we think, but more influence than we realize. Carey will show how to pre-think discipline and communicate in a style that gives the relationship value. Mary DeMuth • "Great Conversation Fuels Connected Families" As the author of 150 Quick Questions to Get Your Kids Talking, Mary shares strategies and ways to deeply connect with your kids through the power of conversation. She touches on the power of encouragement, listening, authenticity, grace, purposeful engagement, and connectedness to Jesus. Learn how to reconnect and interact with your children in life-changing ways. |
THE DIGITAL FAMILY: TECHNOLOGY AND OUR KIDS With Carey Nieuwhof Increasingly we are connected, but not to the people in the room. The primary disconnect is relational and current technology just gives it expression. If all the technology was removed from your home tomorrow, what would be left of your relationships? We need to pursue relationship and teach character to our kids – not just teach limits. Carey will show how we can embrace new ways to communicate, connect our kids to a wider circle, and celebrate what’s good in technology. PREPARE YOUR CHILDREN FOR THE WORLD THEY LIVE IN With Mary DeMuth In this workshop, Mary helps you understand the culture surrounding your kids and gives specific tools to create a home kids are wildly enthusiastic about. She stresses the importance of being the kind of person you want your child to emulate, coaching your children through pre, mid, and post adolescence, and helping your kids thrive in an increasingly shifting culture. |
Please Note: The Parenting Conference will take place regardless of inclement weather.
